THE INFERTILITY JOURNEY

"One of the most valuable things we can do to heal one another is listen to each other's stories."

~ Rebecca Falls

There are many things in life that we often take for granted.  One of them is the ability to have children.  Most people don’t expect to have difficulty having a child.  We have thought about it, and have a vision in our minds of when and how it will all happen.  We want to plan it out, so it fits in with our life timeline.  However, when things don’t go as planned … the infertility journey begins … and is often one of the most difficult and trying times in your life.

The infertility journey, however, does not have to be so difficult.  By being empowered with the right information, you can make the right choices … leading to the most efficient path to success.  It is with this goal in mind, that I decided to write this book.  I want everyone who is dealing with infertility to have the relevant medical information at his or her fingertips.

I also want you to know that you are not alone.  Your story is not that different than millions of other couples facing infertility.  We are all human and have similar emotions and feelings.  Having treated hundreds of couples, I realize that most of you are all going thru the same emotions, struggles and pitfalls. The same questions and dilemmas of what to do.  The same social stigmas and feelings of isolation, blame, and guilt.

I therefore wanted to keep this book simple yet powerful.  I included the most pertinent medical information that is easy to understand.  I also added numerous cartoon depictions of positive and negative comments that couples with infertility often encounter.  I further included anonymous quotes from many infertility patients to put real voices behind the disease.  You should know that what you are feeling is real and shared by many others.

Keep this book next to you as you go through your journey.  You may also want to share it with close family and friends.  It will help them better understand your struggle.

Finally, know that there is light at the end of your journey.  Most every person who has patience and persistence goes on to have a successful outcome.  The road may get bumpy, but keep the faith.  It is all worth it in the end … which of course, is the start of a new beginning!
